Frequently asked questions
- What kind of program do you teach?
- We teach a survival-based swim skill program. Our swimmers learn to flip, float and follow first, so they are able to flip over onto their backs to float and breathe, then follow the path to safety. After mastering these skills, we continue to develop our swimmers, building endurance and functional swim skills as well as stroke technique.
- At what age can my swimmer start lessons?
- We teach swimmers as young as 4 months. Our goal is to provide life saving swim skills for swimmers of all ages and abilities
- How many lessons do you recommend per week?
- We recommend swimmers swim twice a week.
- Do you offer Adult lessons?
- Yes we do.
- For our adult swimmers, we recommend a minimum of a 30 minute lesson to be booked once or twice per week
- What is needed for lessons?
- All that is needed for lessons is a bathing suit and towel. For our younger swimmers, a swim diaper is also required.
- In the winter months, we suggest bringing a warm change of clothes, including a hat, beanie or hoodie, to help your swimmer stay warm after lessons.
- How long will it take my swimmer to learn how to swim?
- Every swimmer learns at their own pace but typically parents can see progress within the first few weeks of lessons.
- My swimmer is crying during lessons, is this normal?
- Crying is a normal part of lessons, our little swimmers are working hard to build their swim skills in a new environment.
- Is the Tustin Hills pool located indoors or outdoors?
- The THRC pool is located outdoors. We have canopies set up in the water & on deck to help protect from the elements. In the cooler months we provide portable heaters on deck for swimmers & parents/guardians.
- What is the pool temperature?
- The THRC pool is roughly 84 degrees
- Can I get in the water with my swimmer?
- Parents/Guardians are always welcome to get in the water and participate during lessons with their swimmer but it is not a requirement.
- Can we play/swim before or after our lesson?
- We do not allow free play/swim for our swimmers or their families
- What if I need to cancel a lesson?
- We ask that you give the office a minimum of 24 hours notice for all cancelled lessons. Lessons cancelled on time will be issued a make-up token.
- What happens if I miss my lesson or make-up lesson?
- We understand things happen and sometimes classes are missed. Only lessons canceled on time will be issued make-up tokens. Make-up lessons cannot be rescheduled.
- What happens if it is expected to rain during my lesson time?
- We swim rain or shine.
- The only time lessons will be canceled by iheartswimming is if conditions are unsafe for us to swim in due to inclement weather.
- We will never swim if there is thunder or lightning in the area.
- If lessons are cancelled by iheartswimming, a make-up token will be issued to your account.
- Will my lesson day, time and instructor change every week?
- Your lesson is set for the same day and time each week with the same instructor.
- Can I change my lesson day, time or instructor?
- If you need to change your lesson day, time or instructor, please email the office at info@iheartswimming.net or place a request through your iclasspro portal.
- When is payment due?
- Payment is due in full on the 1st of every month, for the entire month in full.
- A $25 late fee will be applied for payments received after the 5th of the month.
- Lesson days and times are ONLY reserved once payment has been received in full.
- How do I pay for lessons?
- Payments can be made by logging into your iclasspro portal and adding a credit card to your account.
- What are make-up tokens?
- Make-up tokens are a way for us to keep track of missed lessons.
- Make-up tokens expire 3 months from the date of your missed class
- Make-up tokens can be scheduled with any instructor who has availability
- Make-up tokens must be used while ACTIVELY enrolled in lessons
- I need to cancel my make-up lesson, can I reschedule?
- Once a make-up lesson has been scheduled, it can not be rescheduled for any reason
- My swimmer woke up sick the day of my lesson, can I cancel my lesson?
- For emergencies or last minute cancellations please contact the office.
- I want to stop lessons, what steps do I need to take?
- In order to stop lessons, the office must be notified by email or through the iclasspro portal.
- Requests to drop lessons must be received by the 10th of the month prior to when you are wanting to stop lessons. For example, if you wish to stop lessons starting March 1st, you would be required to give notice no later than February 10th.
- Lessons requested to be dropped after the 10th of the month, will be charged for.
- Do you give refunds?
- We do not offer refunds of any kind. Please do not ask
